creative posse
As a professional writer since 1991, I have had the opportunity to work with many talented people--artists, graphic designers, editors, creative directors, writers, multimedia gurus, web designers--who I fondly refer to as my "creative posse." Being around this eclectic group of people brimming with creativity energizes me and inspires me. I have learned many creative secrets, techniques and inspirations from my creative posse. And now I want to share them with you!
creative passion
Coaching is my soul food. It's the way I give back to the religion of creativity by sharing what I know and helping others discover deeper connections to their own creativity. It's a constant listening for the flicker of aspiration in the voice as someone leans in and says, so quietly I can barely hear, "But you know, what I'd really like to do is..." and I say, tell me more about that.
I will practice creativity coaching in my own life in ways big and small because it is the closest I have ever come to prayer that feels meaningful. My fulfillment and my motivation is in the little things, like the smile from my son when I share a coaching technique with him to help him fight off the voices that tell him he can't write well or that he is not smart enough to "get" fourth grade math. However it turns out, he knows we are in this together, my boy and I. Just as I hope any client will feel when they work with me: we are in this together. You are not alone.
